- Out of bounds: Beyond any fence or line of white stakes bounding the course.
- Roads and paths: All artificially-surfaced roads and paths are obstructions.
- Protections of young trees: If a tree of two club length in height or less interferes with a player's stance or the area of his intended swing, the ball must be lifted without penalty and dropped in accordance with the procedure prescribed in Rule 24-2b (Immovable Obstruction).
- Ground under Repair: Play Prohibited. All areas encircled by white lines on the ground or areas defined by blue stakes is ground under repair from which play is prohibited (Rule 25-1b applies).
